The Ribosome meetings take place once every three years. Ribosome meetings inform participants of the state-of-the-art of the field of protein synthesis and translation regulation. They also provide an opportunity for students and junior and senior researchers from academia and industry to meet, share new ideas, start new collaborations, and discuss the future directions of this active area of the modern life sciences.
Dates of the meeting: January 6-10, 2019
Location and venue
Mérida (Yucatán, México), Hotel Fiesta Americana
Paseo de Montejo 451, Centro, 97000 Mérida, Yucatán, México.
Merida can be reached by different ways:
1. Direct flights from Houston IAH (United Airlines), Miami MIA (American Airlines) or Mexico City MEX (Aeromexico and other airlines) to Merida (MID)
2. Bus from Cancun (CUN)
The bus trip Cancun-Merida takes approximately 4 hours. The major Mexican bus company (ADO) operates buses leaving from the Cancun airport or from the Cancun city center, which is a short cab-ride away from the airport. There are some ADO buses that take you directly to the Fiesta Americana Hotel in Merida.
Tickets can be purchased at the ADO ticket booths, either at the airport or at the terminal of the Cancun city center or online at the Clickbus website https://www.clickbus.com.mx/en/ado At the Clickbus website, you may choose to buy your tickets in advance using any major credit card. However, to keep your options open, it is really easy to purchase them upon arrival at the ticket booth. Please IGNORE the unsolicited ride offers you will likely get when arriving to Cancun.
